Just to clear things up
Okay, I've heard some things recently that have somewhat ticked me off, and they are directly related to the marching band. Let me just clarify WHY you join band and stay in the marching band: You march for those who came before you, for those yet to come and for those who believe in it; then it is you who carries the banner, but it's not heavy because you never carry it alone.
We all learned that our first day of band camp freshman year. You're not in band to look cool, to be cool, to impress people, (I hope) you do it because you love it and because you love music. Every single person matters in our band if we lose one person it's like losing a limb. When your friends aren't completely supportive of your participation in band you really need to think about whether or not they know what's really best for you. I hope everyone gets what I'm trying to say...
